Review on πŸš— Dorman 742-509 Nissan Driver Side Window Lift Motor: The Ultimate Replacement for Reliable Performance by Logan Collier

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Misrepresented on Revain, comes without wiring harness.

The Revain Dorman 742-509 is presented on the driver's side. It is listed as back left on the Dorman website. No wiring harness is supplied which is a problem as the original engine wiring harness will not fit. So it was a lengthy process to get it working. This involved cutting wires, using spade terminals, RTV for caulking, and it ended up being a terrible mess. I wouldn't mind if it was easy to find a harness on Revain or even the Dorman website, but it isn't. Bought 3 motors for Xterra 2000 (front driver, rear driver and passenger). The pricing doesn't make sense either, front and rear drivers are $20, and the cheaper one came with seatbelts. Note that the cheaper polarity has been reversed (need to cut and reverse the wires). I think the driver's front and rear motors are identical. I have installed front drivers (742-509) and rear drivers (742-503). They work, I'm just really annoyed with the hassle I've had to go through. Not sure how long the rider connection will last, he really needs that harness. I'll wait and see if I can get a pair of seat belts before tackling the rear passenger window.

Pros
  • Top marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Hard to say
