25ft Displayport to HDMI cables not working since 2018

I ordered 2 of the 25ft mini DisplayPort to HDMI cables both were faulty ie when I plugged my laptop into the tv, there was no signal. I originally purchased a 25ft cable in 2015 which still works perfectly and I have been able to confirm my devices are working properly. I've attached a photo, it clearly shows that the new HDMI connector is not the same as the cable I bought in 2015.
