Emits a strong chemical odor for several days before being returned. Lots of other questions.

April 12, 2020 — We got this because of the PEOC technology. It turned out that we had several problems. - There was an unpleasant chemical odor coming from the device. The Molekule FAQ has suggested that it could outgas due to chemicals encountered during shipping and this will go away after use. After 3 days of continuous use it was still there. Whatever it was, we got huge headaches. The device emits light blue light when using PEOC. It's almost impossible to sleep next to him. And when I'm using the bedroom, I prefer to have the device on, but chose to skip PEOC while I sleep due to the light - the device had to go into "dark mode" at night as scheduled. For three nights he never got it right. Do not enter at night and leave too early in the morning. This may be due to poor wifi in the bedroom. Which brings me to my next problem. For all advanced functions, e.g. B. setting the clock or stopping the device to turn on a BRIGHT light at 4am, you need to use the app and sync the device over WiFi. There is NO WAY to manually set the time on the device. Not with the app, not on the device itself. There was also no way to disable scheduling on the device itself. You must use a synced app and WiFi. I think the for factor is nice, but the execution of the actual functionality was terrible. For $800 I want something that does what it says on the tin, doesn't keep me up at night, smells bad and gives me a headache. After all that, I did some more digging. Consumer Reports hates this. Wirecutter calls it the worst air purifier they've ever tested.

Pros
  • Durable finish
Cons
  • There are downsides
