Review on Huawei Freebuds Pro MermaidTWS with Active Noise Cancellation - Ceramic White by ng Hong Dng ᠌

Revainrating 3 out of 5

It works, but I don't think I'll be buying it again.

Instead of replacing my JBL Tune 110BT, whose microphone failed due to sweat, I decided to upgrade. The sound quality is considerably worse without the noise cancellation turned on, and the price is 8 times that of JBL. There is a noticeable improvement in sound quality and bass response when noise is reduced, however the battery only stays charged for roughly three hours when set to maximum noise reduction compared to six hours for JBL headphones. Discharge occurs significantly more rapidly on the right earpiece than the left; while the left one still has 15% of its charge remaining, the right one is completely depleted. They can be charged to 50% from empty in just 15 minutes using the case's power source. In spite of the benefits (fitness, joyous running, absence of wire, absence of clinging objects), they frequently fall out of the ears. They will fall out of your ears spontaneously and with no effort at all if you operate in an industry such as auto repair or construction where frequent tilting is a waste of time. I had to dig it out of the shavings and catch it over a paint bucket a few times. While the active noise cancellation feature does their job, the JBL Tune 110BT's superior rubber earcup inserts make them a better choice for use in noisy environments like the subway and airplane. I would have gotten better second ones if not for the wire, which is in the way a lot.

Pros
  • excellent sound quality and noise cancellation; provided you don't flip upside down while wearing them.
Cons
  • Without noise cancellation, the sound quality is poor; you'll need to adjust your hearing about once every ten to fifteen minutes. consisting of a variety of ear pads of the same size but designed to be swapped out.
