I bought these because I wanted clean circular stitch holes. As mentioned in other reviews, the single and quad punch works great. Six hole hammer drill is smaller. I have found that a six hole punch is best used for aligning the holes to be punched. By putting the punch's two prongs into the previous two holes, I could make four more holes in a straight line, placing the sharper prongs on the skin where the holes are needed, tapping the side where the holes are needed and roll the punch to this side. I have used this method on leather where an embossed Naughyde fabric was bonded to the lining, giving the leather and fabric a thickness of approximately 1.6 ounces (4mm).
