Review on Dehumidifiers Home Electric Portable Dehumidifier by Lauren Smith

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Simple, quiet, practical, efficient

This is the perfect dehumidifier for a small space such as bedrooms, bathrooms, large closets, offices, etc. It couldn't be easier and safer to use. The dehumidifier is either on or off. When it's on, a blue light will glow around the power button to indicate it's working. When the tank gets full the machine will automatically shut off, which is ideal if you don't realize the tank is full or just forgot to empty it. When it comes to removing the tank, it's very simple. Using the notch on the bottom of the tank, pull the tank out of the back of the dryer. Since the tank is not too big even when full, it is easy to handle. Emptying the tank is very easy. You can either remove the entire cap to quickly empty the tank or pull the small rubber stopper on one corner to empty the tank more precisely. Removing the entire top from the tank also makes it easy to clean, which can sometimes be done by hand with a mild detergent. also help to maximize its effect. Most importantly, you need to make sure it's standing on a flat, level surface and that there's nothing blocking the ventilation holes on the machine body. To maximize the effect of a dehumidifier, it also helps if you keep the area in which it works closed (closed doors, windows, etc.) as much as possible. Because this dehumidifier has a small footprint, if you can find a spot with a flat, level surface and good waist-level airflow, you can save yourself the hassle of bending over to access the storage tank. As for the noise it makes when working; I would say that this dehumidifier is very quiet, but not silent. In other words, if there aren't any other noises drowning it out and you're paying attention, then you can hear the dehumidifier working. However, it's such a low, steady rumble. that it's very easy to either tune it up or hide it with other sounds. In terms of efficiency, mine draws a cup or more per day of where I have it and can run for days before the tank is full. Of course, how much water you collect per day depends to some extent on the humidity in which you operate the machine. This in turn will determine how often you need to drain the tank to keep it running continuously. I find this to be a great choice for anyone looking to reduce humidity in a specific area or to capture water from the air to use in things like plants, steam generators, car maintenance, or anything else that can hold gray water.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • I vaguely remember
