Review on Hoover Cordless Upright Lightweight BH53420PC by Christina Ford

Great little vacuum cleaner, but there are flaws.

What a great little vacuum cleaner. I bought my first Linx vacuum in 2013. I bought a branded model in May this year. Still have both. Both work great in a typical home environment. We use this vacuum cleaner in a 2100 sq. feet, with mostly wooden floors, and it gets the job done. This model seems to be a little quieter than the 2013 model, but works just as well. Working time? I always carry a spare battery or two with me so I can vacuum the whole house without having to stop to wait for a charge. When the brush is on, the run time is shorter, especially on a long carpet. Batteries aren't cheap, but neither is my time. This vacuum cleaner does an excellent job with cat hair, at least in our case, and is a double-coated Maine Coon mix. Some improvements? I added a few Velcro strips of the "fuzzy" parts to your head corners where you're most likely to hit furniture or baseboard corners to avoid scratching or chipping the paint off the baseboard. It seems to help a lot. If I were a designer at Hoover I would upgrade this vacuum to a brushless DC motor for more RPM and maybe longer battery life and fix a few things. Continue reading. Mr. Hoover, you need to fix a few things: 1. The plastic cup with the fine dust filter sponge falls out of the dust bin if you turn the dust bin upside down while emptying it. It can fall on the floor or, more importantly, on your foot or toes. This is not very pleasant and also scatters fine dust over the floor that has just been swept. Place three ribs evenly spaced on the outside diameter of the dust cap so that it snaps into place with light pressure. A solution that costs nothing apart from a small tool change.2. For some reason, Mr. Hoover, something went wrong with this branded version of Linx. The squeegee will not lock in the 90 degree position when the sweeper is "parked". This means that if you temporarily stop vacuuming and move away from it, or if it is lifted to move, the handle can suddenly fall to the floor. See attached photos. My old 2013 model still gets it right, so I may have applied a lemon or some sort of bean counter to the mechanism to keep the cost down. I don't know, but it hurts like hell when you pick it up to move it and your head falls on your leg. Mr. Hoover, I offer my suggestions for eliminating the hanging head. What you say?
