When I moved to another state none of my DVDs/VCRs came with me which broke my heart. I think I was a bit "old school" (now a 65-year-old lady) and at that time only knew the connection via standard cable, wall with VCR, VCR with television. HDMI was a whole new thing for me to get used to and learn. I was initially very disappointed because the HDMI signals don't daisy chain together like HDMI does, which confused me a lot at first. Also, I switched my cable TV service to Roku as I wanted to use 1 Roku stick with both TV and recorder. I just invested in a composite to HDMI converter and it works great. I had my Emerson repaired and it works great and now I can burn DVDs of my favorite movies or shows. I was even able to transfer some of my old VHS tapes to DVD (except Disney movies). The only problem I've encountered is trying to change the titles of the recordings on the discs. Now I want to get another one for my bedroom!
