Simply put, this item is amazing. This is my second real color palette, before I just used a cheap $5 palette from Michaels and some Prismacolor watercolor pencils. .Although the box does not have the slightest importance, it leaves a very pleasant impression. It's high quality fabric laid on what appears to be cardboard, which isn't exactly pretty, but it's very pretty. The pan itself is pretty much any color you could need. Some colors look very similar at first glance, but appear incredibly deep on paper. Many of them look almost black, but turn bright purple or blue when wet. The colors don't stick to the paper, which is nice. With my Silver Brush Black Velvet brushes they roll out very well and hold the color very well. They wash well on paper and have incredible brightness. I'm not great with watercolors, but this set is definitely helping me. I will say that you can find a lot of similar palettes and cheaper. It has more colors which is why I bought it, but there are also fan colors of similar quality available.
