There is simply no better mandolin.
This is one of those tools that cut prep time in half. It's lightweight, easy to transport, takes up little space and is, in my opinion, safer than the larger, heavier all-metal lights. Mandolins scare a lot of people and I've seen a lot of accidents. So. Note, for smaller pieces, use a handguard and trim food before placing it on the mandolin, making sure the blade is sharp. Replace the blade if you don't know how to sharpen it.
