Products like this are sometimes hard to justify because after all it's not a computer, TV, phone or audio system; it's just a cable. But no, it's not just a cable. This is the gateway to simplifying the rest of your entertainment. Most cables that come with an eGPU are ridiculously short, around a foot in most cases. It's terribly restrictive and even makes basic setup that much harder when you don't have a car next to you. This cable was a real blessing as it allowed me to harness the power of the eGPU while sitting comfortably on the couch. Most of the time I don't even hear him running. Yes, it's expensive, but since it costs and gives you a full 40Gb/s but almost 6x the length, it's not a problem. It's constructed very nicely, fits snugly and doesn't come out easily when casually sipping, and even feels soft and leathery. If you're not sure, just jump in and grab one. The extra length never hurts when flexibility is required.
