Worst company ever! I emailed them 2 times, sent a message on Instagram and got no reply! No direction at all! So. This is a battery temperature sensor to ensure it doesn't overheat while charging. Well the problem is that if you mobilize your panels like I do because I camp in the shade they don't reach the charger. You will need to extend the cable as long as necessary to access the panels or charger. You will also need one per battery if you have 2 batteries and then connect them together as the charge controller only has one connector. Don't buy from Renogy!
