Works as intended. Fully plug and play. I'm using a Windows 10 desktop computer and needed a second USB Type-C port, and that was just before the number of USB Type-C peripherals skyrocketed. (Gigabyte Alpine Ridge card.) For those wondering, Gigabyte motherboards that support the Alpine Thunderbolt 3 card are a separate pipeline for the processor. It uses a PCI expansion slot to power the card and connect it to the motherboard, and a cable to connect to the Thunderbolt interface connector.
