Works great as a quad shock on my 2004 Mustang GT Convertible. Installation was easy with an air ratchet. The shock absorbers are compressed by a plastic band that holds them together. The front bracket on the car (the one with the nut welded on) needs to be moved apart slightly to facilitate fitting with the spacer provided. I laid an old piece of 1" pipe about a foot long on one side of the bracket and hammered it in. It didn't look like it would move, but after that the brace popped up slightly. Screw through the spacer and the bottom one End of the shock, I cut the plastic rod. The shock didn't expand immediately until I pulled on it a little and then it started to move. With both hands I "got" a hole in the free end of the shock on the stud at the back .I couldn't get the shock to fully engage the bolt by hand, but a few hammer hits was enough to set it properly.Don't forget to put the spacer on the bolt before cutting the tape.
