The one that convinced me to buy it was written by Aceto on January 10, 2013; However, many others have reported that this product needs to be pre-washed with liquid detergent before first use and tumble dried on a low setting to prevent it from seeping onto the countertop. We wash most of our products in the dishwasher; However, we have crystal vases, glasses and fragile items that we wash by hand, as well as pots, pans and other items that cannot be cleaned in the dishwasher. So far we have used kitchen towels but this product is much better. This durable mat combines two super-absorbent microfiber layers with a thin yet absorbent foam layer that can hold up to 4 times its weight in water. It dries quickly, folds and stores easily, is attractive, and is the perfect 16" x 18" size to fit my countertop. can be used as an oven mitt, oven mitt or heating pad but works great as a countertop protector from scratches and scuffs from blenders, mixers etc. Love the fact that it's just the right thickness of a durable surface to safely dry fragile glass and dishes without hand drying . To top it off, this product comes with a free materials replacement and labor warranty. While the rug has a piece of material on one corner of the back that fits on a clothes hook, mine dries quickly on the counter. This product meets my needs, looks good, is priced right, and is just the right size and color for my kitchen. If you follow the instructions and use it properly, I think you'll like it too. Enjoy!
