Review on Snapper XD Cordless Electric Tools Battery: Briggs & Stratton 82V MAX 2.0 Lithium-Ion by Jared Poinson

Treat gently, hang on the wall

This battery and charger set have worked well for two summers. But there is a design problem. The batteries are far more massive than the base station, and it takes a fair amount of force to seat them. When they are seated a cheap orange plastic interlock switch is depressed. Today both hands were full and I tried to insert the battery quickly to make it seat. The interlock switch broke, which is probably what happened to the other reviewers too. (Easy to test by suppressing it with a screwdriver). If I had mounted the unit on the wall then it would have been more natural to insert the battery gently yet firmly enough with one hand. I will do that with the replacement. The other issue is that the two photos of the unit on this product description do not match. There is a plastic cylinder near the electrodes on my unit and on the lower photo, but not on the photo above. Also the photo above is gray while my unit and the photo below are black. But the model numbers matched for my unit. This is really not excusable and cost them another star.

Pros
  • Power & Hand Tools
Cons
  • The battery may not fit well in certain cordless tools
