Is as advertized - my new review

The rate it charges makes using my snapper equipment makes it were I don't have to wait to finish my work because of a dead battery.

Pros
  • BSB2AH82
Cons
  • The battery may not recharge fully after extended use

Revainrating 5 out of 5

It would be nice to have a protective cover for it when it .

This charger seems to work well. It charges these batteries quickly. It would be nice to have a protective cover for it when it is not being used.

Pros
  • exactly as advertised, and much less than others.
Cons
  • The battery would not hold a charge after 5 cuttings!!

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Died after 40 days in my review

Purchased the battery on 9/7/22 and on 10/12/22 it would no longer charge. Do not buy if you expect it to work or purchase 12 of them if you want a years worth of battery usage.

Pros
  • Cutting-edge Technology: Snapper XD Cordless Electric Tools Battery is integrated with advanced Briggs & Stratton 82V MAX 2.0 Lithium-Ion battery technology. This ensures the tools are able to perform consistently without any fluctuations in power and speed
Cons
  • The battery may wear out too quickly for regular use

Buy 2 x 2.0A battery vs. the 4.0A battery

The 2.0A battery is a smarter buy; you spread the risk of battery failure across 2 batteries and pay less money for the total capacity (2.0A is $125 from some sellers). If one fails, at least you still have another battery. Also, running a high capacity 4.0 battery on a tough lawn gives it a lot more time to overheat; heat is the enemy of Lithium Ion battery life. Get the 2.0 capacity. In addition 1) let the batteries fully cool down before charging and 2) Do NOT let the battery sit uncharged…

Pros
  • A bit expensive but necessary
Cons
  • The battery life is shorter than other high-end lithium-ion batteries on the market

Loooong Lasting - my new review

Bought this for my lawn mower. On my fourth lawn mowing (once a week) I do have a fairly small yard, but it’s a jungle, without charging. It runs full power right up till it’s dead. Crazy huh.

Pros
  • Works as stated
Cons
  • The battery may not provide enough power for large landscaping projects

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Easy to use and store.

The charger works well and is very easy to use. Charging a lithium ion battery correctly is most important for long life. This charger makes it easy for sure.

Pros
  • Power Tool Parts & Accessories
Cons
  • The battery may not provide enough run time for certain tasks

Have 4 batteries down to two in less than a year.

I love the Snapper brand but going wireless is not a good idea unless you have very little to no grass to mow. I was raised on the Snapper brand. My Father had one and I learned to first mow with Snapper. But when I made the switch to battery powered mower. I have not had much luck with keeping batteries. I have purchased several batteries and they seem to die very quickly. I'm not talking about run time, that has been amazing. What seems to be happening is the batteries down last but one…

Pros
  • It is used on a lawnmower.
Cons
  • Headline says it all.

Wporks great! in my review

I have not had good success purchasing off brand equipment batteries. This one is twice as heavy as the off brand one I have and even though it's 2ah it holds a charge longer than my 82v 3ah unit. This was a lot more money but I have found that with equipment batteries you get what you pay for.

Pros
  • Charges the 82 volt batteries quickly -it’s a bit noisy in its operation but very functional
Cons
  • The battery may overheat during extended use

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Longer, heavier, and well worth it.

Once you use the 82 Volt tools, you will never go back to corded tools. Once you use the 82 Volt 4.0 Ah battery, you will never buy a 2.0 Ah battery again. Just Saying.

Pros
  • Compatible with Snapper XD 82V MAX cordless electric lawn and garden tools
Cons
  • The battery may not perform well in wet or damp conditions

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Overpriced buy works well

It's great to have an extra charger if you have several batteries for your mower and other power tools. Charges fast. Like the batteries its way more expensive than other brands of the same voltage.

Pros
  • Snow shovel
Cons
  • There are only a few Snapper XD cordless tools available that are compatible with this battery

Battery didn’t work and wouldn’t recharge.

The battery did not work even though it appeared to be charged. It would recharge and was completely a waste of money. Thanks for attention!

Pros
  • Good value and fit perfect
Cons
  • Horrible replacement for a second battery for lawnmower. Second time one of these has failed on me.

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Good product! on my review.

Battery charges fast and lasts a long time. We have a 15 degree slope front to back on our lot and this battery pushes the cart for 6 hours non-stop.

Pros
  • Battery Packs
Cons
  • The battery may not be compatible with all chargers

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Batteries may not work

Brought two batteries both of which were completely dead and I’m being told they’re on back order don’t know when they may be replaced bewareAnd consider another brand

Pros
  • 3 pounds
Cons
  • The battery may become depleted quickly if used on high-speed settings

Treat gently, hang on the wall

This battery and charger set have worked well for two summers. But there is a design problem. The batteries are far more massive than the base station, and it takes a fair amount of force to seat them. When they are seated a cheap orange plastic interlock switch is depressed. Today both hands were full and I tried to insert the battery quickly to make it seat. The interlock switch broke, which is probably what happened to the other reviewers too. (Easy to test by suppressing it with a…

Pros
  • Power & Hand Tools
Cons
  • The battery may not fit well in certain cordless tools

Allows you to have 2 fully charged batteries

Purchased to be able to start mowing with 2 fully charged batteries in my Snapper XD. Worked as advertised That's my feedback.

Pros
  • great item
Cons
  • The battery is not as robust as other high-end lithium-ion batteries on the market

Revainrating 2 out of 5

lasted just over a year and died

Just over a year and the thing would not charge. For the better part of $300 i would have hoped for much longer life. Replacement is 30 days - OUCH!

Pros
  • Perfect replacement for failed charger unit. As described.
Cons
  • The battery takes a long time to charge and users cannot work while it is charging

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Good luck getting a product that works!

We purchased a mower with this charger less than one year ago. The charger quit working. We ordered a second charger from Walmart that did not work. We returned that and received a THIRD charger that did not work. We have tried calling every service phone number and took the charger to an electrical repair company who could not repair it. We are at our so frustrated and our lawn looks terrible. We also learned that Briggs and Stratton went bankrupt last year so we basically have a useless mower

Pros
  • operates as advertised and works well.
Cons
  • Retuned. Battery would not charge

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Only use name brand

Tried an off brand of this battery and it wouldn't hold a charge. The extra money for the name brand is worth it. That's my review.

Pros
  • Cost-Effective: The cost of owning and maintaining electric-powered tools is significantly lower compared to gas-powered tools. The Snapper XD Cordless Electric Tools Battery does not require fuel, oil or maintenance, making it a cost-effective choice for long-term use
Cons
  • The battery may not provide enough power for chainsaws or other heavy-duty tools

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Pricey, but worth it.

Pricey, but worthwhile if you have a larger lawn. This battery gets through a .25 acre lawn with about 2-3 bars remaining. For comparison, the 2ah versions usually die with about 25% of the lawn remaining. This battery is also ideal for extended high power tasks like blowing out gutters with the leaf blower, which eats 2ah batteries incredibly quickly.

Pros
  • Outstanding product, battery life is very good.
Cons
  • The battery is not widely available in retail stores

Battery Life for my opinion

Battery lasted about as long as the warranty. After reading some of these reviews, I'm not even going to try to get a replacement. Will not buy from B&S again.

Pros
  • Long battery life
Cons
  • Very expensive to have to buy a new one every year. Another one just died.
