Best investment I've made in the last year. I've never had a vice and I don't know how I managed without her. This thing has been used a lot in the last 9 months and is still working. I love the fact that this thing opens to about 6 inches (I can get 6-1/2 inches at most) and also the fact that it has very wide jaws (8 inches). Reasonable price with forged steel jaw. and an anvil with something like a cast iron base (cast iron scares me because of its lower strength). I mounted it on a workbench in the garage and tightened it with no problem. Great grip that holds and doesn't loosen. It is also easy to put on and take off. I like the swivel aspect - easy to rotate and lock in position. I've even used a pipe vise (under the main jaws) twice (cutting and threading) - again no complaints as it makes working with the pipe a lot easier. - no marks on the surface of the anvil.
