It definitely works and pretty darn close to 100 ftlbs.

I use this to tighten jam nuts with an impact wrench before applying final torque with a torque wrench. Its operation can be clearly seen and heard with my torque wrench, and every time it gets very, very close to specs, only the slightest extra torque is applied with my torque wrench. Works as expected although all final torque values should always be set with a torque wrench.
