I am giving 5 stars because it works very well but did not meet my expectations. The reason it didn't live up to my expectations is because the reel is VERY solid. I'm sure you can stretch it up to 3ft, but don't expect to plug it into your phone 3ft away and it will stay there. I was expecting a lot more bounce from the reel so I can route the cable to the left side of the steering wheel when needed and then wrap it around the center console when not in use. But that is impossible. I had to move my phone to the right side of the steering wheel to use it (so it barely stretches). So. As long as you buy this with the idea that the reel is VERY strong, you should be good to go.
