I bought the Van Goth Almond Blossom style. The outer edge faces up so rain catches the umbrella instead of dripping off. I've followed the brief instructions provided, but nothing solves this problem. Sent it back and ordered another because it's so nice only to find the same problem. FYI if you have limited hand strength you might want to avoid this company even if they fix the problem. It's hard to press the button, the umbrella goes up and pops like a rocket when opened, and it's very hard to close. Had to put both hands on the top and bottom of the counter to get enough pressure
