Purchased for the first mountain tour. It was a very difficult wet slab, wet rock and rough terrain. The support of the shoe was excellent. No problems with my feet when it was finished which meant they got the job done comfortably. The outside temperature was 30 degrees. My feet were warm and I used thin cotton socks. I wouldn't say they're waterproof, but they are *slightly* waterproof. Despite the damp ground, my feet or socks were not wet. Now I use them every day for work. I have some problems with my feet and sometimes they hurt BUT NEVER WITH THIS shoe. Even after 8 hours of standing and walking on your feet! We recommend. *** THIS IS FOR A MEDIUM SIZED FOOT. If you have a high or wide foot that is above average, you might want to consider something else.
