This is my second stand light. The first one didn't last long, because after three months the lamp was fully functional. Also the stand was wire and very thin. It was difficult to operate and balance. I didn't want to get another one but then I saw the trellis stand and thought um maybe I could try that one too but when the light dies out I have enough light and stand. My surprise, the light and stand work perfectly. The stand is much better than the wire I had to begin with. It's very strong and doesn't wobble or tip over like wire. It's metal, black mesh, and wider, so the balance is really good. It also folds up for easy storage. Very pretty. Yes, I would recommend a stand.
