Review on πŸͺ’ 50 Derby Extra Double Edge Razor Blades - Stainless Steel Blades for Superior Shaving Experience by Anne Wilson

Everyday blade for men

Here's the thing. everyone has a different combination of skin sensitivity and mustache type, so the key to a great shave is finding the perfect razor and blade combo; also affects the aggressiveness of the razor. (If you try this blade and it doesn't work for you, then keep looking for the perfect combination - it exists.) What may surprise you is that "sharper" isn't always better. Feather blades, for example, are known for their sharpness. I've found that the new Feather blade in my Merkur HD removes more hair on the first down pass (using the standard three-pass technique: down, nose-to-ear, ear-to-nose) than any other blade. However, there are spots on my neck that just can't be cut close enough without going against the grain (upward), and the feather's blade is eating me alive. If I avoid cuts, I still get significant razor burn; smearing with aftershave containing alcohol is unbearable. That brings me to Derby. I would describe this blade as being smoother than the spring which can scratch at times. When I made my first down pass in the derby, my first thought was, oh no. I have 50 of these things and they suck. I thought so because they didn't remove as much hair as Feather on the first down pass, but I couldn't be more wrong. With this blade I could easily make subsequent passes against the direction of travel. The result was a close baby shave, and when I applied an alcohol-based aftershave it was PRICELESS. When I say there were no burns, I mean there weren't any. After a few days my neck irritation was gone and I no longer use the "sharper" blade. At first I thought this would be my "everyday" blade and I'd use a feather for a special occasion or something, but. wrong again. Derby has become my everyday blade. Here you will find useful information on choosing the right knife. I have made! http://www.shaving101.com/index.php/education/double-edge-shaving/48-choosing-the-right-blade.html
