Incorrect low pressure reading - cuts out below 20psi

I installed this on my old 6.2 liter GM diesel engine. It works great at medium to high pressure, like 40-60 psi. It drops and stops reading just under 20psi so its useless to me as my hot oil pressure is about 18psi at idle. I tested this device on the stand. Its resistance drops from 24 ohms to zero at the bottom, which explains why it's reading incorrectly.
