My kids prefer putting on our own lights and I wanted to get them something that was more fun that twinkled or danced. We do colored lights so I put these on as white so you could see where they are placed. I didn't go for the straight look more like weaved them. Doing this the length didn't go all the way down but almost! My tree is 7 ft. This was the easiest method of putting on lights! As far as the app, I had a hard time getting them to connect but I finally figured it out. You have to press really hard on the buttons on the remote. I have not figured out all of the settings but the ones on the remote are cute and fun. I would recommend these! I almost bought ones that were WAY more expensive and I'm glad I didn't these work great!
