I really like these shoes but they are definitely more minimalistic. It's not just a cheaper adult version of Single Peaks. They are slightly narrower and the sole is much thinner. I personally don't like the thick, soft soles of the Altra adult shoes and was very happy to find them with more flexibility and less cushioning. But with a thinner sole, you can expect to feel the ground, especially when walking on coarse gravel. Pros: Light and flexible. They get wet too, but don't usually get wet. They've been great on every terrain I've worn them on, including the trail. Cons: The sole wears out quickly. After less than one weak spot there was noticeable tread wear. Now it's a trail running shoe, maybe because of that, but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who runs or walks on the pavement, including kids who play on the tarmac at school. I stopped wearing them on asphalt so they wouldn't wear out so quickly, but the sole was already worn out in a month and a half.
