Of course it's just a 'different' Shimano 16-Notch X 44mm head and it's powder coated steel, isn't it become normal. Made in one piece but for the intended use and torque I expect very good durability: most bottom brackets it ever comes in contact with are softer aluminium. Why I chose this particular tool was the combination of two unique qualities: it had its own handle, as well as a receiver with a 1/2" square socket. You can get BB tools with handles from most manufacturers just like you can get BB tools with sockets to use with your own ratchets/torque etc but I didn't see it when I got it so that many offer both tools in one tool. A search today turned up a similar tool from "BW" but Park or similar still doesn't offer anything comparable. tight threaded BB bearings but if I'm concerned about that and want to use my torque wrench to tighten closer to spec I can do that with no problem. The fit is generally good, but I've seen some very light scratches on the pinching edges of a pair of very thinly anodized outer bottom brackets. I don't know if it's the tooling not being "fine machined" or the cheap BBs, or their anodizing being too soft/sensitive. Maybe both.
