I was on a low carb diet for six months. Eggs, a low-carb staple, were mostly absent from my diet because I don't like eggs (okay, maybe Eggs Benedict sometimes). I found that when I ate eggs, they filled me up and I stayed full for most of the day. What to do? I bought this omelette and used this recipe: whisked a giant egg with some cream, then everything low-carb allowed: diced ham, grated cheese, diced vegetables. Mix with beaten egg and pour into a compartment of the omelet, cook for 10 minutes. What comes out is a porous, cake-like thing that doesn't really look like eggs (especially smeared with some sour cream on top). Yes, calories and fat probably make it a no-no for those who don't stick to a low-carb diet, but for those of us who do, it's (sometimes) not an issue. This "omelet" keeps me feeling full most of the day and can help me avoid extra calories at other times. Best of all, I was able to add something yummy to my low-carb diet, which in turn allowed me to lose 25 pounds in six months and keep it off.
