. Needed it for a recent Garmin GPS update. Apparently Garmin added so much detail (or bloat, as you judge) to the map data for some of their older (2 year old) Nuvi models that they can no longer fully accommodate the US and Canada map updates. In a recent attempt to do this, there were two options: download only parts of the US and Canada, or insert a microSD card into an available (and still empty) slot on the Nuvi. The Garmin update software was very specific, at least 4GB but no more than 8GB. After the amendment, I was again able to treat all 50 states and our Canadian neighbors equally. This card is great for that.
