Bought for elderly niece. I wanted to give her real skates with real wheels, something more durable than the ones sold at Walmart and Target. They are amazing; They really shine in the sun. The perfect compromise between quality and price for an older child who will eventually outgrow their size. Metal bogies with good inboard/outboard wheels and good bearings that aren't terribly fast. I replaced the wheels/bearings with Crazy Illumin8 wheels to make it more fun for her (highly recommended btw; they're great for beginners and kids as they include bearings so you don't have to worry about flipping the wheel ). Mother, as if you use red-hot wheels or similar models without bearings. I recommend digging out a 1/2" socket or crescent wrench and loosening the wheels (check they're evenly loose). Her skates rolled. right straight out of the box but the wheels were very tight and uneven. I didn't solve the carts for her as she was just rolling, but I can if she later has trouble turning while moving.
