A complete game changer! Intermediate level DIY project.

When we moved into our house about 7 years ago, we got to know our ejector pump (we didn't have it before). On each launch we heard the "general" knocking/rattling in several rooms. Although it was very annoying, everything worked so we eventually accepted (but could never ignore) the noise. Then, after some research on the internet, I found out that there are silent check valves. I decided to give it a try. I've replaced the ejector pump in the past, so I felt I could handle replacing the check valve. TOTAL GAME CHANGE! After the pump runs, the valve closes quietly and NO knocking/knocking etc.! In fact, I added extra water to make sure everything was working properly! All is well! As far as actually replacing the valve, you probably need general plumbing experience. Obviously this is definitely not an area where you need a leak! :(My old check valve was connected with rubber grommets, so I had to adjust the PVC for the new valve's fittings. The new connections are much better (seals better, handles pump vibration better, etc.). I used pipe sealant...after I I had read some other reviews. I'm glad I did. No leaks at all. Can't believe I've waited almost 7 years to change this but it's quiet now.
