Review on Weaver Leather Hurricane Barrel Rein: Durable Braided Nylon for Exceptional Performance by Dusty Tofte

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Feels good in the hand but is a little short

My paint is 15 hands and the reins barely reach up and back to the saddle horn head. Forget letting her graze, because I'd have to drop the reins or climb down her hanging neck to let her do that. I suppose it would be fine for arena riding where you never let your horse hang your head, but for cross country riding where you need to stop and rest your horse from time to time you better plan your exit and stand you up. break because if your horse drops his head there's a good chance you'll lose the reins and still have to come down to retrieve them.

Pros
  • Ideal for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Some problems
