Works but REBUILD required!

Let's start with the positive: Service: as stated. All functions work well; Except for an audible click when switching on. Installation: This is a classic case where the engineer does not consult the installer. They designed a beautiful compact flying saucer with great lines; BUT there is no place for a ground wire and no way to mount it to a ceiling box to deal with that eventuality. I had to resort to some very old avionics skills to find a solution that wouldn't leave bare wires in my attic. Instructions: They are just terrible. All of this leaves you scratching your head. It was like throwing a disc at someone and looking at it and imagining how to wire it to the ceiling. There are no guidelines as to how far the outer or inner insulation has to be stripped or measurements bent to end up on push-in screw terminals, and there is absolutely no regard for the presence of a ground wire! . Much less like connecting into a 1 1/2" x 1/2" inner "box". The schematic looks like it was scribbled on a napkin; leave the guidance to your imagination. You'd better burn the instructions; Use firelight to see while sorting it yourself! My idea was to strip the Romex's outer insulation to about 1.5 inches, the line and neutral inner insulation to 3/16 inches, and the ground to 1 inch. Bend the lead and neutral 1/4" under the outer insulation at a 90 degree angle for insertion and use a two-pronged "clip" connection for ground wires that fit inside the unit instead of a threaded nut.
