I use this hub on my desktop PC for extra easy-to-access USB 3.0 ports. Plug and Play worked without any problems. Anything I plug into these ports is recognized by the system. Powering USB devices is no problem either. SD card reading was an added bonus! I've found that I can use this with a Chrome Book as well. I was able to turn on the Chrome Book and expand it to a second display with FHD resolution. This may not work with all Chrome Books. Check your Chromebook's specifications to ensure your computer has video capabilities to support external display extension. The device is by no means tiny, but it is lightweight. It doesn't add any noticeable weight to the computer bag when traveling.
