I bought these to use on an antique chest to make it taller for a bedside table. I painted the legs with quick drying oak wood stain to match the wood of the trunk. At first I was a bit worried because the metal plates that came with it that attach the legs were wider than the wooden edges on the trunk where the legs should go. I drilled pilot holes in the top of the legs to make it easier to attach the center screws to the panels. Then I aligned the edge of the panel with the edge of the log paneling and attached the panel with two screws on that side. I used slightly longer screws to attach the other end of the plate as there was a gap between the plate and the barrel. This was enough to attach and secure the panel. I like the look of the trunk and the height is just what I wanted. The quality of the legs was excellent and they are very well priced considering all the hardware is included.
