Excellent for straining kefir. Brings out all the curd. Wide neck glasses are suitable for this. Not ordinary. But I strain mine in Tupperware first before bottling. UPDATE: Works so well I bought a second one. As others have said, I haven't seen a nylon mesh strainer in stores. Since I make kefir daily, I wash it more than once a day. No smells, no dirt sticking in between. Mine hasn't broken yet. I get smooth and creamy kefir, and it collects all the curds - big and small. Highly recommended for kefir makers.
