The fabric is too thick even when properly stretched.
I'm not done with this yet, so I can't comment on the thread count, but the material is so thick it's difficult to get a needle through. I use the smallest of my own needles with an eye big enough to hold 4-6 pieces of thread and I snap my thumb as I pull it through. I even tried pushing and pulling with a thimble. It's still not working well. I do not recommend this for beginners, you will be very disappointed with the thickness of the fabric. I know it will be beautiful when it's done, but I keep putting it aside because it hurts!
