The only option other than replacing the entire steering knuckle on our 2009 Ford Flex AWD. The shop couldn't complete the alignment until I replaced them and the two front tie rod ends. After installing two of these (a difficult job) alignment was possible. Now the car feels a lot better. Please note that removing the old ones and installing these ones is hard work. At one point I applied 600 ftlbs of torque. Make sure they go straight in. I used one of the standard ball joint kits and part of the problem was the roughness of those tools. However, the alternative was to replace the entire steering knuckle, which would have been 10 times worse.
