Review on 🚰 InSinkErator H-Wave-SN Involve Wave Instant Hot Water Dispenser with Stainless Steel Tank - Satin Nickel Finish by Aaron Shaw

Use a pre-filter or reverse osmosis for longer life.

My Insinkerator Wave is 4 years and 4 months old. For the first time with this model. I've owned my home for 28 years and have always had some sort of Insinker hot water model. Most only lasted 2-3 years before the heater failed, the heater leaked, or the dispenser leaked/failed. So far (knock on wood) this one is still going strong. We use it daily for tea/coffee (hot side), drinking water, people and pets (cold side). I believe the longevity of this unit is due to the fact that I installed a pre-filter before/before the dispenser this time. This greatly reduces the formation of limescale inside the heater. Our city water is pretty good, tastes great, and is on a fairly low scale (usually under TDS, Total Dissolved Solids, aka Calcium, Magnesium, Potassium, etc.). a pre-filter reduces this even further. On the cold side I find I drink a lot more water now than I used to, the taste is great. I used the Insinkerator filtration system which was easy to install. Changing filters is a pleasure. The downside is that filters are expensive. I recommend installing a pre-filter or reverse osmosis system before feeding your insinkerator for longer life. Eventually I really started having both hot and cold levers. That means they're more difficult to manage and don't always automatically close on their own. A light spray of WD-40 into the valve/faucet body where the levers were attached fixed the problem immediately. Wipe off the excess with a paper towel.
