Phineas Hope Wood Fines is a fine wood finish for projects. It's not a one-step miracle: it's a multi-step process that takes almost a month. However, the results are worth it. I confess that it took me some time to write this review. For some reason I expected instant gratification. However, if you follow the instructions, you will need to do the following: TAG #11) Sand with 120 grit sandpaper2) Roughen by dampening the wood3) Allow to dry (1-2 days to fully dry depending on what you are finishing) TAG #34 ) Sand with 1505 grit paper) Apply a rag6) Sand the finish on wood with 220 grit wet/dry grit paper7) Wipe away excess finish and wait 24 hours DAY#48) Sand with 320 grit paper9) Sand more with a cloth and wipe dry10 ) Leave that Dry the product in a warm place for a week. )TAG#1814) Sand with 6001 grit sandpaper) Apply an extra coat and wipe dry 16) Let the item dry for another week (wow!) almost a month wait and your project is done. The process requires a lot of patience and, depending on the size of your woodworking project, a lot of time and effort. And 6 different sandpaper sizes. You should protect your hands from tung oil and lemongrass, but since the wood finish is applied, it has a lot less odor and is a lot less toxic than most. However, make sure you work in a well-ventilated area. The results are really good. The wood usually retains its color and the wood grain accents deepen. Several sanding cycles leave a smooth wooden surface. This is more suited to professionals or serious hobbyists than amateurs (like me). I'd say the results are definitely worth the wait, but I'll personally save the rest of the product for a project that deserves that kind of dedication.
