Description of 🌹 Enhance and Protect Your Home with Hope's Phineas Rose Wood Finish and Sealer: Tung Oil infused with Lemongrass for Furniture & Floors, 16 Oz

Natural and Non Toxic — Optimized blend of premium non-toxic drying oils including pure tung oil and lemongrass oil; it is safe both when applying and after drying. Professional — Developed and used for more than 20 years by wood joinery expert Richard Gordon, this oil blend penetrates deep into wood to become part of the wood itself rather than remaining at the surface. Durable — The finish requires only simple maintenance to develop a rich luster over time and become better looking as it ages; repairs are easy if they are needed. Water Resistant — Enhance your wood with excellent resistance to moisture and alcoholic beverages; ideal for use anywhere in or around your home. Easy to Apply — The application method takes several weeks, but inherently corrects for mistakes along the way and can be done correctly by a beginner on the first attempt.

Excellent surface quality.

Last year we renovated the kitchen. We opted for butcher block counters. I cut the pieces and my wife and daughter did the finishing. They researched and settled on tung oil. So glad they did as this finish is amazing. The water flows straight up, does not penetrate the counters. This is a fantastic ending. So I was very happy to take it. This is a quality product for sure. You did well. Because post-processing with tung oil takes time. I don't have anything ready to show yet, but I'll do my…

Creates a beautiful finish with just one application.

This oil finish has helped bring the different types of wood in my home to life. I used an old rag to apply and in one coat I could really see the difference. In my photos I have a before and after layer, before is on the left. A crown molding over the kitchen sink, a wooden cupboard door from better days, and a scratched table leg. Thanks to this oil everything looked like new in just a few minutes. Can't wait to see how they look after a few more uses and some curing and drying time. On the…

Protection for antiques that have become part of a tree

I misread the label on this item and am very glad I made a mistake. I thought it was a rosewood finish (a product I'll need in the spring) but it's a wood grain finish called Phineas Rose. This is a crisp finish that will take a long time, up to 15 steps in the process, but I've taken more steps on some of my antique projects. When you are done, the wood will become one with the tung/lemongrass oil. Instead of a varnish, this sealant penetrates deep into the wood and offers real and lasting…

Wonderful to look at, touch and smell

I haven't used tung oil since I was a teenager and helped my mom fix old wooden furniture. We recently bought a new house with unpainted wood - walls, cabinets, etc. I was delighted when I was offered a mixture of tung oil and lemongrass oil. It goes on wonderfully; Doesn't stick, doesn't leave puddles, just soaks into the wood. Of course I wipe with a cloth after application, but little comes off. After the first application the wood looked warm and wonderful. Repeated applications only…

Safe Project in Housewares

Step 1. Visit your local hardware store and purchase a set of sandpaper. You'll need the following grits: 120, 150, 220, 320, 400, 600, 1200. You probably have some of these from other projects, but if you don't, don't worry, you'll use them again. Okay, now find some good stuff. Tip: An old sock (or cotton underwear) also works. So here's the thing, it's a month long project but it's minimal work. The only reason it's taking so long is because you need to give it time to heal. So the first…

Perfect for my project

I've been arguing for a long time about how to rate the usability as it's not very easy to use but it's worth it. Front this is a newly built furniture project, no crown molding and I used Douglas Fir. As an oil finish you will not see exactly the same color with other woods and it will be darker on reclaimed Douglas fir; In fact, I milled "premium" framing lumber to get boards worthy of a joiner. The more reddish color may not show up very well in shots, it has almost turned the natural grain…

Excellent workmanship but takes a long time to finish

Phineas Hope Wood Fines is a fine wood finish for projects. It's not a one-step miracle: it's a multi-step process that takes almost a month. However, the results are worth it. I confess that it took me some time to write this review. For some reason I expected instant gratification. However, if you follow the instructions, you will need to do the following: TAG #11) Sand with 120 grit sandpaper2) Roughen by dampening the wood3) Allow to dry (1-2 days to fully dry depending on what you are…
