Safe Project in Housewares

Step 1. Visit your local hardware store and purchase a set of sandpaper. You'll need the following grits: 120, 150, 220, 320, 400, 600, 1200. You probably have some of these from other projects, but if you don't, don't worry, you'll use them again. Okay, now find some good stuff. Tip: An old sock (or cotton underwear) also works. So here's the thing, it's a month long project but it's minimal work. The only reason it's taking so long is because you need to give it time to heal. So the first weekend is the time when you get the most done. Here's a simple plan: Friday night - sand the wood with 120 grit, then wipe with water and let dry overnight. Saturday - Sand with 150 grit, then apply Phineas Rose Wood Finish with a rag. Now sand the paint you just applied with 220 grit. Wipe it off and leave it until tomorrow. Sunday - Sand with 320 grit and apply a second coat of Wood Finish. Allow to dry and leave until next weekend. The next 3 weekends of work will be a minimum - just 1 day each weekend for sanding and re-coating the wood. That's all. It's not difficult. It just takes patience. Then on Saturday I'll be weekend 1 again lol. But seriously, if you like projects, you'll love the simplicity, especially since the finish is safe and non-toxic.
