Review on ๐Ÿš™ Rough Country 2.5" Lift Kit for 2007-2018 Jeep Wrangler JK - Series II Suspension System by Adam Krueger

Great kit, but there are a few things you need to know first.

This kit does what it is supposed to do. Even with the schematic instructions, it only took a few hours to install and the Jeep now looks great. I have to mention a few things that I haven't seen in any other review. It's not the kit's fault, it's the nature of the beast. Every 2-3 inch increase in spacers causes the same problems. Raising the front rotates the axle forward and changes the roll, which isn't adjustable on these jeeps. This makes the steering very responsive, shockingly responsive, and when you have to brake hard, staying straight becomes a real pain. You can fix this by installing multiple adjustable lower control arms or multiple control arm movement mounts. I decided to install some adjustable mounts to move the rancho around. With the mounts mounted, the jeep is controlled in the same way as before the lift. Another point to consider is that this kit doesn't have a front bracket to move the tie rod, which isn't a big deal, but it will cause your steering wheel to be slightly off center after lifting. Driving this way will give you a code that won't turn on the lights. The computer determines that the wheel is misaligned and this can affect the operation of the ABS system. This is just a tip to re-center your steering wheel and remove the code from your system just in case. All in all I would still recommend this kit, it looks amazing and my wife loves her jeep more than ever. We put 285/70R17 tires on a 33" Jeep and it still has room for 35" tires as advertised.
