Review on Scotch Light Packaging 610: Durable πŸ“¦ Shipping and Packaging Supplies for Maximum Protection by Justin Herman

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Sturdy, mostly transparent - a little thinner than I'd like for portability

Don't be fooled by the picture of the strap - this strap is not dark but mostly transparent as the description states. It's really almost transparent, with a slight amber tint that you'll only notice against a light background. When gluing cardboard for packaging, you probably won't notice the color at all (or if you do). The deeper color in the image is simply due to multiple layers of tape stacked on top of each other. I'm no tape expert, but the strength and thickness is very similar to Scotch 142 packing tape except it's about half the size. Width (and not entirely clear). Scotch claims it has higher heat resistance, which isn't bad with summer shipping, but I'm not aware that the less expensive 142 tape failed due to heat when I was using it. According to the description it rips. manually, that's right. This will give you fairly straight, but not quite straight, edges. Scotch sells another tear-off packing tape that gives a very straight and clean edge, if that's important to you. I use this on a dispenser to get sharp edges. The reason for the four stars is that I prefer the wider 2 inch tape to seal the packages I ship. It's a good strong tape and I think it's a good product but it's thinner than I want to use. So I recommend Scotch 142 tape for this class of tape because of the extra width. For even stronger tape, I recommend Scotch filament or bi-directional thread (for very heavy packages).
