Peeling like crazy after one wear

My toddler wore them around the house for hours after I let them try them on and the white sides are already peeling like crazy. Admittedly he's two years old and doesn't take very good care of his shoes, but I still expect significantly better quality for the price. On the other hand, they're very light and breathable, so they're a good beach or garden shoe if you don't care what they look like.
