Review on GE Lighting 11585 - 200W 12-Pack Bulbs by Andrew Frison

I worked in an office cave - no windows, dark dirty brown/taupe walls with rust colored doors, and neon lights that give me a headache for five seconds. I had two lamps and lighting under the closet but it was still dark. After reading the reviews I bought this bulb to put in a floor lamp style lamp that shines straight up to the ceiling. That's great. It gives off a clear, cool light that fills half the office, enough to keep the room dark. The lamp came in excellent condition, there were no problems with packaging and delivery. Note, however, that this is a HOT bulb. The lamp I have it in is a cheap metal lamp with a white plastic shade and after two days of use the lampshade has burn marks and a burnt dust smell even when the lamp is cleaned, a heavy first hour of use especially after a weekend. After two weeks, the shade deformed a little and became a bit pliable. When you are just a foot away from the lamp, you can also feel the warmth emanating from it. I plan to replace the lamp before changing the lightbulb because it really has such a positive impact on my workplace!
