*second update* we fixed them! He hated taking them off but after reading the reviews I took a pair of scissors and cut them off. Voila! Now they go easy and he loves her again. It's weird that they're too tight to use without cutting, but it's great that they can be easily repaired. After all, $40 wasn't wasted. They just don't open wide enough for his legs to get in. It's a shame because he liked them when they were on but trying to get through the hole ended up breaking the deal as now he screams when he sees them. So if your kid has very narrow feet and hot dog shaped ankles, these shoes might suit you. Original: Beautiful and flexible. children love them. Only four stars because it's a nightmare.
