Review on 🚗 Bilstein Monotube Shock Absorber (24-197779) - Enhanced Damping for Superior Performance by Steve Walton

I bought them to replace factory shocks (159,000 miles). I installed them on my 2006 Ford F-250 Superduty Lariat Edition. Removing the old shocks was easier than I thought, but accessing/removing the top nut on the shock is a bit tricky. It is recommended to use a large amount of penetrating oil. Installing the new shock required a small jack to compress the shock just enough to fit on the mounting bolt. I also recommend having a rubber mallet to tap on the shock mounting bolt. This will aid in installing the new shock absorber onto the mounting bolt. It took about 45 minutes to remove and install each front shock. I left the front tires on and just turned the wheel all the way right/left. I also swapped the rear shock absorbers. The ride with the new Bilstein dampers is soft and light. A very good trip. I recommend them as a replacement for a 2006 Ford F-250.
