Gear indicator can be used

Fitted to 56 Belair Turbo 400, works great. No problems installing. It would only be better if it had a backlit display for night driving. Let me add that the T-handle, which prevents accidental shifting into neutral or reverse, rattles a bit, but duct tape is a quick fix.

Pros
  • Excellent design
Cons
  • Requires socket

Automatic Quick Shift

Came quickly, universal targets are not the best. I put all the parts that didn't fit my Chevy application back into the box. I bolted it to a Chevy th350 drive train, fits well, looks good, it would have just been nice to have a nicer and stronger body instead of the black plastic but it does the job. Thank you guys.

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • There are new competitors

Good but terrible delivery

Works well, lock is great but can wiggle when not adjusted. The problem I have is that the lock handle has big scratches and gouges due to the bad delivery. The box looks like it was hit by a truck. I bought it new and was expecting a new shape but can't return it as I don't have another car to drive.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Not sure

Excellent value for parts for parts

This is the first TCI switch I have bought. The flip is awesome. It's bloody expensive, I usually buy B&M. The only snag in the instructions is the location of the shifter cable tab on the outside of the bracket. On GM 4L80-60 overdrives, the tab must be on the inside of the bracket. (I called TCI tech support and the first call was answered by one person!) Definitely recommend this switch.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model

Very nice shifter at Shifters & Parts

Okay I will start by saying this is a very nice and well built shifter, instructions as always for a 3 speed gearbox if you are using it on a 700r4 4th gear install speed gears like me you need to buy 4 new mounting bolts about 1/2 inch longer no big deal 3 dollar low prices and you need to install a cable brace inside the derailleur not the front like the instructions say specified, if not you can't get the derailleur to return to 1st gear and it won't adjust properly. I know I spent 2 hours…

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Some little things

A well-made, economical switch for your street or race car.

I bought this as an inexpensive replacement for the Hurst and B&M variants. I've used both of these brands during my hot rodding days. Although both brands are still of high quality, they have become very overpriced in my opinion. TCI has been a long-standing torque converter and transmission parts brand that I have had good experiences with. In search of an alternative solution, I decided on this switch. I am satisfied with the quality, feel and design. The ratchet is strong and crisp, offers…

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Poorly thought out

Poor quality, failed after a couple of weeks

column replaced with FAST-GATE shifter, worked for a couple of weeks, then stopped turning on overdrive (there are 700R4). I shifted gears but missed the upshift and immediately went into neutral. I've tried downshifting and even just starting in overdrive but it just won't work. The choice was either Drive or Neutral. I don't know what went wrong but I was still unhappy with the switch so I switched back to column shifting. I will probably buy a B&M derailleur to replace this one. I don't care
